Peter Davey Appointed Creative Director, Entertainment, ITV STUDIOS

ITV STUDIOS today announced that Peter Davey has been appointed Creative Director, Entertainment. Reporting to Kevin Lygo, Managing Director, ITV STUDIOS, Peter will develop and produce new entertainment programmes for both ITV and external broadcasters. Peter is currently Director of Programmes, September Films where he has been responsible for overseeing a large slate of entertainment and factual entertainment content including Penn & Teller: Fool Us with Jonathan Ross and Joan (Collins) Does Glamour for ITV1, Children’s Emergency and Alan Whicker: Journey of a Lifetime for the BBC and Beauty and the Geek for Channel Four.

Peter will establish a new entertainment team working alongside ITV STUDIOS’ other entertainment Creative Directors and their teams. 

Kevin Lygo said: “We already have a rich portfolio of established and brand new entertainment formats with much more in development, but to build on this it’s crucial to welcome new creative talent to the team. Peter has an infectious energy for new ideas and an impressive track record developing and producing across a wide range of entertainment production both for ITV1 and external broadcasters.” 

Peter said: “I’ve been making shows for Kevin back as far as 1999 and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work closely with him - particularly during such an exciting time for ITV STUDIOS. After seven very happy and successful years at September Films this was too good an opportunity to pass up.” 
 
Prior to joining September Films in 2005, Peter was responsible for making Playing It Straight for Channel Four and before that was at Carlton Television - where he created original factual programmes including Killers on Camera and Holiday Hospital for ITV1, and Airbase for Discovery. Previously he was Head of Factual Programmes & Development at Action Time Productions where he acquired the UK rights to Big Brother precursor The Mole, producing two series for Channel Five. Earlier in his career Peter held senior production roles at Hewland International and Granada Media, where he was responsible for originating the format which became I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Peter joins ITV STUDIOS in November.
